Tim O'Donnell is 2011 1st Quarter STARS recipient

Boy, was Tim O’Donnell surprised on Thursday morning when his supervisor, Donnie Kirkpatrick, announced that Tim was the department’s first quarter Special Thanks And Recognition Spotlight (STARS) winner for 2011.

Bill Rose nominated Tim for the award as a result of the start-up of the plant’s co-generation project. There have been a number of digester upsets at the outset that have kept staff busy as cleanup crew.

“Tim has been there leading the charge, leading by example, and often working long hours,” Bill said. This extra challenge has been in addition to Tim’s regular duties as assistant superintendent.

“His tireless efforts have been both beneficial to the environment, preventing what could possibly have been a disaster. He has served as a great example to his subordinates, demonstrating how much he cares about the county in general, and this plat and his co-workers specifically.”

“I do appreciate being a STARS recipient, but this quarter’s STARS award was earned by the whole staff at Middle Basin, “ Tim said. “They have responded to the events quickly and professionally.”

Bill is now two-for-two in his nominations for the employee recognition award.

“It would be a wasted opportunity if I didn’t nominate Tim for his tireless efforts with the digesters to keep our county and streams clean. Tim has exhibited creativity in dealing with the upsets, service with his work and solutions, and humor, considering what is flowing out of the pipes!”

The STARS selection committee and JCW’s Leadership Team couldn’t have agreed more or said it any better. Congratulations, Tim, for a job well done and shine on!
