1. Rate Table - Commerical / Industrial - High Strength / Industrial Customers

Rates (Commercial/Industrial) Service charge is $1.55 per statement. Volume is $1.88490 per 1000 gallons, $.00188 per gallon. Rates (Commercial/High Strength Industrial) Service charge is $1.55 per statement. Volume is $0.94308 per 1000 gallons, $.00094 per gallon. BOD is $0.16255 per LBS. TSS is $0.13761 per LBS.

2. Sewer Use Credit Procedures


What kind of program is it?

It is a voluntary program for Commercial customers who wish to obtain credit for water that does not enter the Johnson County Wastewater collection system. In accordance with User Charge Resolution No. WD 02-35:

A. It is the responsibility of the user to provide documentation sufficient for an accurate determination of the water that does not enter the wastewater collection system.

B. In order to receive credit for water not entering the sanitary sewer, JCW requires that this water be continuously metered.

C. Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) will not be responsible for any costs associated with the installation or maintenance of any water meter installed as part of this program.

How do I start the process?

2.) Review the procedures, then download and fill out our application.

3.) Send your completed form by either.

a. E-mail: to solutions@jcw-custserv.org.
b. US mail: to Johnson County Wastewater, Commercial / Industrial Liaison, 11811 S. Sunset Dr., Suite 2500, Olathe, KS 66061-7061. 

Johnson County Wastewater will respond to submitted Sewer Use Credit Application by US mail, phone, or email within two weeks of receiving the application. Sewer Use Credit will not be considered on usage that occurred prior to the previous 12 months.

How do I obtain credit?

To receive credit for metered water used within a cooling tower, irrigation, water used in product, swimming pool or other water that does not enter the sanitary sewer, fill out this form in its entirety. Refer to the "Instructions Tab" for assistance in completing the spreadsheet.

3. Appeals Not Related to Volume


Commercial Appeals Submittal Form 

Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) has established the following procedures for consideration of appeals. Below are the categories in which you may appeal. You may dispute one or all of the categories. No appeal will be considered for the current year, if not received on or before December 15th of that same year. Appeals will not be considered for the previous year. If you appeal multiple categories, use only one form to list your appeals.

 A. Appeal Types:

1.) User Classification – User charges are determined in part by the classification of the customer. (Persons wishing to appeal a change in their user classification shall contact JCW in writing within thirty (30) days after receipt of the bill, stating the basis for the appeal.) 

2.) Strength Appeals – Industrial customers wishing to appeal their assigned strength assessment shall contact Johnson County Wastewater in writing within thirty (30) days after receipt of the bill, stating the basis for the appeal. To consider this appeal, JCW reserves the right to request information in support of the determination of the strength generated at the referenced location. 

B. Obtain an appeals form in one of two ways: 

1.) Call the JCW customer service center at 9 1 3 - 7 1 5 - 8 5 9 0 .
2.) Download the form from the JCW web site - MS Word (48kb) format, PDF doc, 52 KB, 1 page.

C. Send your completed form by either: 

1.) E-mail to solutions@jcw-custserv.org.
2.) US mail to Johnson County Wastewater, Manager Customer Service, 11811 S. Sunset Dr., Suite 2500, Olathe, KS 66061-7061. 

Johnson County Wastewater will respond to submitted appeals by US mail or email within two weeks of receiving the appeal. This written response will confirm receipt of the appeals form. Upon recommendation by the Manager of Customer Service, the JCW Appeals Committee will consider the appeal.
