Tips to Conserve Water

As you use water during your day, remember that clean water isn’t just “there.” It takes time, energy, and resources to make sure that clean water is available when you turn on the tap.

Simple guidelines to conserve water

  1. Take showers rather than baths.
  2. Take long showers only when necessary.
  3. When you brush your teeth or wash your hands, turn the water off when you are not using it. Just think about all that good clean water running down the pipes on its way to the complicated and expensive purification process.
  4. Keep water in the refrigerator so you don't have to run the water to cool it.
  5. Check all faucets and toilets for leaks and quickly repair them.
  6. Fill the dishwasher completely before using it.
  7. Water the lawn and not the sidewalks.
  8. Wash complete loads of clothes, not just the outfit you want to wear tomorrow.
