2007

I. JCW gains new intern as one graduates


Evan Glidwell is appreciated!

 

Evan Glidewell is a student from Olathe Northwest High School. He was hired as part of a joint program called LEAPS (Linking Education and Public Service) between Johnson County and Olathe School District. At JCW, his official title is a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Intern. Already, Evan can make a county maps showing JCW’s service area as well as new sewer projects that are being added to the system.

Working as an intern in the LEAPS program, Ryan Metcalf from Olathe Northwest High School proved to be helpful in every area of the JCW Administrative office. In 2005, he joined JCW. Ranging from GIS systems assistance to computer consultations in both large and small group settings as well as one-on-one, Ryan made a valuable contribution. For more info, read Ryan's 'blog'.

Update 8/07: Ryan Metcalf is currently attending the University of Kansas full time with a major in Computer Engineering.

I. Webelos Project from the Westwood View School

The scouts learned about JCW, examined water from different sources through a microscope, and their findings was put together in a presentation. Please review their results available in two formats:
