As part of the current sanitary sewer rehabilitation efforts, Johnson County Wastewater has contracted with SAK Construction to begin rehabilitating sanitary sewer mains throughout the community beginning in late November/early December using the trenchless cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining method. CIPP lining is a method of trenchless pipe rehabilitation in which a resin-saturated polyester felt tube is installed in the sewer pipe through an existing manhole. The resin in the tube is then cured (hardened) using steam or hot water. The service laterals are then opened using a robotically-controlled cutting device.
If your sewer service will be interrupted due to this work, you will be notified via door hanger prior to the service interruption. Please note the following if you are notified of potential service interruption:
Construction sites can be dangerous and your safety is extremely important to us. We realize that construction can create some inconveniences and annoyances, and we are doing everything possible to keep these to a minimum during this project. Thanks again for your patience.
